Quite frankly I grew sick and tired
of computer games being constantly knocked for making people unfit, antisocial
and generally maladjusted. The device shows how computer games can be beneficial
by encouraging users to be more like their gaming alter-egos in terms of
fitness, sociability & use of their environment.
For example, a person wearing a G-Link works in an office- they can either take the stairs up to their desk or they can take the lift. They know that if they walk up the stairs then their game character will get strengthened as a result of their physical actions so, hopefully, they decide to take the harder (but more healthy) route purely because a computer game motivates them to do so.
Asides from that main goal though, like all gaming related technology, the device ultimately aims to make the game more interactive and more fun!
